The study analyzes the contribution of tourism to the Greek economy for the year 2021, as well as in relation to 2020. The figures for inbound and domestic tourism, investments as well as the indirect and induced effects of tourism activity on the economy are analyzed.
In this study, Greek Tourism’s direct and indirect contribution to the Greek Economy is analysed. Furthermore, its contribution to regional development and employment as well as its multiplier effect are assessed.
This study presents the findings from an economic impact assessment of a potential increase in the VAT rate on the Greek hotel industry from the currently applicable reduced band of 6.5% to the middle band of 13%.
