About the Project

The TourXpeRience project aims to transform vocational education and training (VET) in the tourism sector by integrating modern Extended Reality (XR) technologies such as Augmented Reality (AR), Virtual Reality (VR), and Mixed Reality (MR). These cutting-edge tools enhance teaching and learning experiences by overlaying digital content onto the real world, making education more interactive and engaging.

This initiative addresses the lack of formal training in the tourism industry and the need for continuous education to keep up with rapid industry changes. By updating VET curricula and providing essential training resources, the project equips students with relevant skills, digital competencies, and environmental awareness. It also supports educators in adopting these new technologies and fostering a mindset focused on sustainable entrepreneurship.

The project promotes collaboration among VET institutions, higher education establishments, third-sector entities, industry stakeholders, and policymakers. This collective effort ensures that the project’s outcomes are sustainable and scalable, ultimately boosting the tourism sector’s competitiveness while mitigating its environmental impact.

By leveraging XR technologies and fostering innovation in education, the TourXpeRience project is paving the way for a skilled, digitally-savvy, and environmentally-conscious workforce, ready to lead in the sustainable tourism sector.
