The annual report is published for the third time with the aim of providing a reference point bringing together all available data in the sector. In particular includes: Administrative Data, Transport Infrastructure, Demographics, Macroeconomic Data, Employment Data, Tourism Infrastructure, Tourism Resources, Key Figures/Indicators of Inbound Tourism, International and Domestic Air Traffic, Coastal Shipping Traffic, Road Traffic, Cruise Data, Admissions and Receipts to Museums and Archaeological Sites, Arrivals/Overnight Stays/Average Length of Stay/Occupancy in hotel accommodation, Arrivals/Overnight Stays/Average Length of Stay in short-stay accommodation and campsites, Overnight Stays/ADR/Occupancy in short term rentals, Economic and Qualitative Performance Indicators of Hotels, Data on the overall reputation of Greece by experience category and Data on Spatial Framework.
The analysis also includes the major challenges the sector faces for the future, such as, among others, climate change, tax burdens, and the irrational Climate Change Levy, as well as the need for clear and effective spatial planning.
The report also refers to the 18 General Strategic Directions for proposed actions to enhance tourism and its sustainability at national level, based on the grouping of the Actions of the INSETE study “Greek Tourism / Actions Plans”.
